2021-02-02
In this episode, we speak to Max Armbruster, CEO of Talkpush.
Max is a serial entrepreneur. He started his first company, Aqayo, a SaaS recruitment tool in 2010 which later got acquired by HRBoss in 2013.
Currently, he is the CEO of Talkpush, a conversational platform for recruiters and jobseekers. The platform handles billions of conversations every year and serve customers like Accenture, Genpact, and Walmart. He's been running the company for over six years.
In our conversation, we try to learn the different problems Talkpush is solving and the benefits of leveraging different channels for communicating with applicants.
Here are a few insights from our conversation -
When recruiting, the goal should be always to screen more candidates as it helps companies to create a diverse team even when it means a low hire to applicant ratio.
The major recruitment challenge for employers during the pandemic was to build a strong connection with applicants and show them the company/people/culture virtually.
While companies are hesitant in using newer platforms (like Whatsapp, Facebook) for communicating with candidates, they should understand that applicants are more likely to communicate through a channel they use every day compared to emails.
The pandemic has increased the number of companies leveraging social media platforms like Facebook for hiring. The number has gone up from 20% to 60%.
If you're passionate about starting a company in emerging markets like India or SEA, you cannot miss listening to Max.
